The Order Of The O.F.A.

On behalf of the Ontario Fabricare Association, the

Order of OFA 2005

is presented to

Paul Rodd

In recognition of the highest level of individual excellence and achievement in
the garment care industry.

Forty three years ago Paul entered the dry cleaning industry as a summer employee. Since that time he has been involved in the growth & development, not only of Lindsay Cleaners, but the profession as a whole. Throughout these years at Lindsay Cleaners, Paul has been very proud to work in a true family-operated business alongside his parents, Ivan & Ruby, as well as 2 brothers, 2 sisters, wife, nephew, daughter & son (& lives to tell of it still!!)

As well as on the job training day- to- day, Paul attended the National Institute of Dry Cleaning in Silver Springs with the illustrious Jack Barth & Dave Puskas-all Ontario boys who had never met until 1963.

Paul was very involved during the ‘70's, with the planning & eventual move, of Lindsay Cleaners to its present location & works constantly to upgrade equipment, techniques, education, & services for the betterment of his staff & customers. Management has always been appreciative of Lindsay Cleaner's loyal staff, most of whom have been a part of the success of the business for a minimum of 10 years.

Locations in Orillia , Bobcaygeon, & Lindsay, encompass laundromats, a carwash, drycleaning , wetcleaning, drapery, storage, repairs, mat rentals& Heirloom wedding dress services. Lindsay also maintains a gas bar, a combination that never ceases to surprise 1st time customers! Within all it's communities, Lindsay Cleaners has always supported, in as many ways as possible, local charities & organizations, receiving, in recognition, many plaques & certificates that are proudly displayed in the main lobbies.

Paul began his executive involvement within the Industry in the Kawartha Division of DCLI, eventually becoming a member of the Board of Directors & assuming the Presidency of OFA in 2000-2002.(A proud event for him as President, was attending an ELCDA function with his Dad who is a DCLI past president) He also enjoys sharing ideas & consultations with fellow members of the Fabricare Management Group. As Past President on the Board, he remains concerned & interested, in the future of the organization working just this past summer with fellow members to discuss concerns such as declining membership.

Paul has always worked very hard for Lindsay Cleaners & in promotion of the Industry while maintaining both have provided him with a good life& no shortage of very “interesting days”, some more so than others!!!! Paul & Anne are very proud to follow Ivan & Ruby as owners of Lindsay Cleaners & to be members of OFA.
